Add More Sense to Your Adsense Program - 18 Tips to Adsense Success

In my article “ Tips for earning through Adsense” I will show you in a very easy way how to earn maximum money through Google Adsense programme. It is assumed that you have read google adsense programme terms and conditions.

You have already visted the google adsense tips. In adsense programme advertisers pay when users click on ads and google will give you a portion of amount paid for clicks on google ads on your site. Google is as interested as you to perform better. I think you have already visited some sites about adsense tips but you are puzzled what to do exactly. Here you will get the summary of Adsense tips. I will mention here what is to be done point wise in a very few words. OK. Let us start earning through adsense quick tour.

1. Try to increase targeted traffic to your site by following the search engine optimization tips. More traffic means more income. Promote your blog in right way.

2. Write unique and relevant articles. Content should not be too small or too large.

3. Don’t modify google HTML code or don’t ask any body to click on it. Google may disable your adsense account.

4. First few lines are important to determine what type of ads will be advertised in your site. So concentrate on the first few lines very carefully.

5. Add google search box in the right hand upper corner. Generally people prefer to have the search box in their right hand side.

6. Use 336X280 large rectangle and 160X600 wide skyscraper ads(in the sidebar). Large rectangle is the best paying ad.

7. Prefer text ads. Text ads do better than image ads.

8. Use relevant color palettes. Colors which tend to blend into your content do better.

9. Place the ads just above the content or middle of the content. Because these are the prominent place and viewers use to navigate.

10. Always make sure that first ad unit is displayed in the best location.

I will post the remaining 8 tips in my next post tomorrow. So just get the best out of the above points while I post the Part II tomorrow. Enjoy with your Adsense!

Should You Use Adsense

I was reading up on Darren’s two posts: Why you SHOULD use Adsense and Why Adsense Might NOT be the Best and it brought a very good question to mind for me. I was sitting here trying to think up whether I wanted to continue using Adsense or if I was just wasting ad space and it was not going to do anything for me. And, I obviously read over his two posts and I began to realize that, for right now, Adsense is the right choice for my blog. For the moment, it is going to be the earner that allows this blog to pay its rent. But…Why else should do I opt to use it?

I’m not getting boat loads of traffic. I’m getting some, but I’m not getting much, so for me to sell private advertising is really not an option. That’s the big problem really. We use Adsense because it makes us some money but, we’d rather use private advertising because that makes us MORE. So, we’re in a bind because we want one thing, but can’t have it. Now, it brings up this point: Adsense can make money for anyone. And that’s the truth. No matter what niche you’re in, you’re going to make money from it so long as you have readers. That’s not the case so much for other niches.

The only thing that I don’t like is that my particular niche is, well, Adsense blind. They know it so well, they just don’t even see the ads, so they don’t ever click. That could be a big reason why a lot of ‘make money online’ blogs are trying to get away from Adsense. People are just becoming more and more aware to the fact that there are ads there. I never click ads and that’s because I am part of that ‘Adsense blind’ group. Most of my readers are probably that way as well. It sucks, but that’s the problem with Adsense.

Anyways…I believe this blog can grow with Adsense; however, I do look forward to the day when I can remove it because something more profitable comes along. However, if it is still the most profitable in a year, then it’s the most profitable in a year. What about you, though? Do you think that Adsense is right for your blog? Right for your niche? Or, do you think that there is something else out there that can make you more money? Leave a comment letting me know…I’d really like to know your opinions. I’ll write a follow up post with everyone’s comments and we can come to a general consensus over whether it’s a good idea or bad. Thanks.

Why I Earn Online!

Why do I earn online? That is a question that I get from time to time. Actually, the question that I get is, “why are you not being a normal person and getting a job rather than being a loser and earning online?” When will people realize that what I am doing is just taking a step to become a business man? Probably not for a long while, or, at least until people realize that there is a lot of money to be made on the web. So, what do I answer? “I earn on the web because I want to own my own businesses…And, because I can make money 24/7 while you can only get paid based on an hourly basis.” They look at me and then proceed to argue.

But, that brings up a very good point. Earning on the web is a very passive income. My blog is up 24/7 and someone can access it all the time and if they see an ad they like, they can click on it. What about someone who works at the grocery store? Can they make money 24/7? Of course not. They can only earn for the hours that they are given. And the funny thing is, they are making seven or eight bucks an hour. So…The big answer to your questions about why I earn online is because I can make money all the time while they can only make money sometimes.

Another reason why I never want to earn money at some job is because I hate to feel like my work is going for nothing. The truth is, I feel more motivated when it comes to my websites. I feel like if I don’t do a great job working on my websites, I won’t succeed. If I do a bad job at the grocery store or the bare minimum, I will still get paid so long as I don’t do anything foolish. Basically, I like to have control over my success. If I do amazing, I want to make money to show for it and not get a five cent raise. That’s why I earn online. Why do you earn online? What are your reasons for earning on the web?

Make Money Blogging Without Actually Blogging (Niche Blogs In Bulk)

Everyone talks about how blogging is hard work and that you need to be extremely dedicated in order to make a decent income from your blog. I definitely agree with that form of thinking if you are attempting to make one or two great blogs, and are spending all of your own time updating them. But what if you want to make 100 not-so-great (but not spam by any means) blogs that collectively make a nice income?

The secret to making money from these blogs (and any blog for that matter) is to really diversify your revenue streams. On average, one of these sites will probably bring in 10-100 uniques per day, so only having one form of advertising isn’t going to make enough money. You should include the following:

Text-Link-Ads - This is my second favorite (for these blogs) next to direct ads. For the first several months after getting accepted, you will probably only sell a couple links. Over time, however, you will likely have consistent sellout months, providing a very steady income source. You can also increase your revenue further by offering their post level ads. Most advertisers who purchase this inventory are only interested in getting backlinks, so your traffic and posting frequency won’t be an issue.

Google AdSense - Test it out and see if the revenue that it makes is worth it. I set a benchmark of $30/month. If the blog can’t get enough traffic to reach that level, I leave AdSense off.

Kontera ContentLink - These are pretty non-invasive and provide a nice trickle of income when used on multiple blogs. If you don’t have a large site to apply with, you will need to register under John Chow.

AuctionAds - This doesn’t usually work for me, but it is worth testing. Depending on your niche, it could provide a big chunk of the revenue.

ReviewMe / PayPerPost - Using these services would require some additional work because you have to actually write the posts, but if you are up to it, they can provide a large income boost.

Direct Ads - These are my favorite. I get a ton of advertising inquiries for text ads and other campaigns. The great part about direct ads is that once you develop the relationships, you can usually keep them going and possibly sell them advertising on other blogs in your network. Be creative and you can always find room for “one more advertiser”
Those 6 different monetization options should be more than enough to push your blog over the $100/month mark. Don’t worry about putting up too many ads, your number one priority at this point should be to generate revenue because you probably won’t have many (if any) loyal readers on these blogs. The posting frequency is just too low to build repeat visitors.

No One Can Tell You Exactly How To Make Money Online, You Just Need To Do It

If you’re reading this blog, or a number of other blogs about making money online, with the hopes that they will tell you exactly how to do it, you’re looking for something that isn’t there. There’s nothing wrong with reading blogs, forums, and ebooks for entertainment, to keep up with the latest news, or to get some ideas, but relying on it alone will not help you to make money online. You just need to get out there and do it.

I’m sure you have heard the saying “success breeds success,” but you probably aren’t taking advantage of it. If you commit to doing something towards making money online, and really take action, even the smallest successes will give you a boost in confidence. This, in turn, will lead to more ideas, more trials and errors, and more successes. You will eventually get to the point where you know what you are doing and are able to adapt on your own to the rapidly changing internet.

1. Choose one or two strategies:

You don’t want to spread yourself too thin by working on too many ventures at once. You can always automate and outsource them once you get them up and running, but for the crucial times when they need your attention, you must stay focused. However, just choosing one may not be enough for some people. There will usually be periods of waiting or burnout, so being able to concentrate on two ventures will add some variety.

Some viable online business strategies would be blogging (obviously), PPC affiliate marketing, user-generated content sites, free service-based sites, paid service-based sites, resources sites, communities/forums, e-commerce stores, paid membership sites, product development (ebooks or software), freelancing (writing, design, programming, etc), eBay selling, consulting, and probably many more.

2. Get Something Up and Running

Even if you don’t quite know what you are doing yet, it is important to just get started. Think of it as a learning process. One of the great things about the internet is that the cost of business is extremely low and everything is very flexible. There is nothing stopping your from rapidly changing your business plans and structure.
3. Always Continue Your Education
We focused on getting something started before learning how to do it because education can paralyze you. Books, training courses, and classes are great for gaining new knowledge and learning how to do new things, but they themselves do not help you make any money. I have seen countless people get stuck in the trap of learning, learning, learning, and while they are gaining a ton of knowledge, they aren’t making any real world progress.

4. Monitor What Works and Keep Doing It

Continuing with “success breeds success,” when you have an online venture in progress, you are continually trying new things and getting your own feedback on what you did right and what you did wrong. Use this information to train yourself how to be successful. This concept is very simply but is often ignored. When something does not work, ask yourself why it didn’t work and figure out how to adjust it. When something does work, ask yourself why it worked and figure out how to repeat and apply to other avenues.
This is where the real learning occurs. This type of learning is on a very personal level because you are analyzing tings that you yourself have done, not things that other people are saying they have done. With enough experiences, you will develop a very strong sense for success and will be able to explode your growth. You can’t properly tell other people (contractors and employees) what to do until you know exactly what works. If you don’t know for yourself what works, and are spending money based on what you have heard, there is a good chance you won’t recover your costs.
5. Never Stop Working Hard
This last step is the most important but is also the most difficult. It is way too easy to start a business on the internet. These days, with software like Wordpress, anyone can have a new business (website) online in 15-30 minutes. The hard part is sticking with it for the long run.
As you probably know, the beginning growth stages are usually very slow and mentally tough. This applies to all of the make money online strategies above. It takes time to build brand awareness, authority, market confidence, contacts, traffic, and ultimately, revenue. However, if you consistently work hard on your business, you will see incremental results in the beginning which snowball into exponential results with time.
6. Start Now, Don’t Stop, and Keep Reading
I know I said in the opening paragraph that you shouldn’t be reading blogs, forums, and ebooks with the hopes of learning exactly how to make money online. I didn’t meant stop reading them all together. Getting inspiration from the experience of others is extremely valuable, it just isn’t as valuable as actually taking action and making your own experiences.

When reading tips and advice online, take them as just that, tips and advice. Don’t keep searching for a step by step strategy that will guarantee your online success because your are the only element that can guarantee that success. Read the words of others to gain ideas, strategies, and inspiration for your own, existing ventures.

Adsense Tips for Bloggers - Part I

This will be the first in a series of posts on this topic. Let me say up front I’m no expert - there are a lot of people out there making a lot more money than I am using Adsense - however most of them are not telling their secrets - well not for free anyway. I’ve got no secrets to hide and am willing to share what I’ve learnt since I signed up for the program 8 months ago. If you want a REAL expert’s opinion on Adsense I’d recommend buying Joel Comm’s What Google Never Told You About Making Money with Adsense E-Book. Joel earns $15,000 per month from Adsense and has some good things to share.

I know some bloggers are put off or offended by the idea of making money from blogging so I’ll try not to let these posts dominate my blog - however if you are not interested in the topic, simply skip over these posts.I am going to assume a few things in this series to cut down the amount of introductory comments I have to make. Here is what I am assuming:
You have a blog. Whilst most of the following tips will apply to other types of websites I run Adsense on blogs and will speak from that experience.

You have (or will) read a basic overview of Adsense and have some understanding of what it is.
You have(or will) read the program policies as outlined by Google. These give details of site eligibility, ad placements and other requirements for using the system.

Enough introductory comments - lets get stuck into the Adsense Tips for Bloggers!

For Those That Don’t Think They Can Make Money Online!

I remember when I first started earning money on the web, people asked me what I did and I explained that I worked online and made my money on there. And then they’d respond, “Dude, that’s so cool…I wish I could do that…Oh, I got to go…McDonalds is calling me.” I’d stand there looking at them and then roll my eyes and go back to writing a blog post or something along those lines. And at first, I was like, “I guess I can understand what they’re saying. It’s tough.”
And then I stopped thinking that and looked at my control panel on Wordpress and looked down at my quarters that littered my desk and then I rolled my eyes. Making money on the web was as easy as one two three. I learned to count at a young age, why couldn’t I learn to make money on the web? And I did. But others were insistent that earning on the web was like rocket science and if I wanted to make money on the web, I’d have to have tons of money. And I’d hear this enough and finally, one day, I said “shut up” and I sat down one of my friends and I began to explain to them what they needed to make money on the web. So, I thought I’d give you that same list:
You need $25.00. That’s IT! Get twenty five dollars and you can make money on the web. What for? Ten bucks for a .com and then $15.00 to pay for $5.00 a month hosting. So, for the next three months, you’re covered. So, for $25.00, you’re set.
But wait a second! I can’t make websites, I don’t know HTML. So? Think I do? Guess what?
Make a blog. It’s all set up. You type and then click “Publish” and suddenly you have a post! Amazing, huh?
But how can I get people to see the site without money? You said I only needed $25! And I was right. Why do you need to spend money to make money? Guess what you can do: Guest Blog Posts. Stumble Upon. Digg. With those THREE things, you can get traffic.

By now, they are just sitting there looking at me as I explained each of those things. And they then pushed themselves to stand and rolled their eyes. “Whatever, dude,” they said and walked off. I sat there looking at them walk away and then shrugged. I didn’t care if they didn’t want to take the chance. I didn’t care if they were too afraid. It wasn’t my problem. I knew that I loved what I was doing and that was what mattered.

So…If you are one of those people that don’t think that they can make money online, read the above three bullets. With $25.00, Wordpress, and the ability to write compelling enough content that people digg and stumble you, you can easily make money. But you know what? If you’re still afraid or still don’t think you can, then go back to flipping your burgers. However…Let me tell you one thing. The feeling of working for yourself is absolutely amazing. Truly is. So, do it. Stop saying you can’t. Shut up. And do it. You’ll love it.

Could Google be threated!

If you are a regular Adsense user like I am, chances are, you have seen that there has been a slow increase in earnings. Perhaps I am being a bit premature with this post, but I can’t remember ever making quite as much as I have in this month than in any other month and it makes me wonder what is going on. I have a few theories, but my primary one falls back on the belief that Google is beginning to feel threatened and to ensure they keep a strong market, they are offering more to us.

One thing that I know about Google is that they are not dumb. You don’t make a huge company like that if you are dumb. Because of that, they can take and give and chances are, they are not going to really have anything but success. However, they have made some mistakes recently. Their war on link sellers hurt them, I think. Their removing a lot of the clickable areas on the ad hurt them. Their altering the affiliate program hurt them. And I think they are getting nervous.
Their nerves might be coming with the potential purchase of Yahoo! by Microsoft. Although Yahoo! turned the deal down, if Microsoft comes back with an even higher bid, what that will do is really give Microsoft the possibility of gaining a stronger search engine, but above all, they might really be able to push out their Adsense/Adwords equivalent, whatever the hybrid may be. Since Google makes so much money from that, they don’t want to lose their market share to another company, especially Microsoft.

The way I see it and I think the way Google sees it, they want to try and keep us publishers where we are. They lost Digg months ago. John Chow left. Other publishers have left. Although I am small time, if a ton of us small timers leave, that’s a loss in money for Google. But, what it really does to Google’s market is that we go elsewhere. By us going elsewhere, more advertisers go there as well and Google loses even more. So, Google really might be feeling a bit threatened.

Companies make mistakes. The ability to adapt and learn from it is what makes a company stronger. If Google learns from their mistakes and ensures that they don’t get in the way, they may be able to stay strong. But, if Microsoft does buy Yahoo!, it could mean some very dangerous months for Google. I know that I would go over and try the new hybrid ad program put out by Microsoft/Yahoo!. And, if I know Microsoft, they will be very aggressive, very fast, very hard. So, is Google feeling threatened? I bet. And I bet they are giving us more money to keep us around. I’m not complaining though!

How to Make $100 Per Day - Jane

I found this post by Jane quite interesting where she had been earning more than $100 per day from the google adsense.

You can have a quick review in terms of her own words.

"I have received a lot of emails in the past week from beginning bloggers and web site owners saying that they are having a hard time making any money with Adsense so I’d like to write about how you can all make money, and show that there are more ways to make money than just Adsense. Since starting my personal blog I have gotten a renewed energy to go all out to see how much money I can make online and I saw that pay off yesterday. With very little effort “yesterday”, here is what one of my sites did:

Yesterday was not my biggest earning day but I still consider it a break through day because things seemed to click on a couple of my sites and the adsense numbers added up with little work. That stems from all the hours of hard work and late nights in the past 6 months. Is $100 worth all the hours of work? No! But $116 from adsense, $100 from affiliate sales, $100 from product sales, and $25 from PPC everyday sure are worth it! That’s over $126k per year.
Let’s All Make Money!

I’d love for nothing more than for all my readers to make money and tell me about it. If you have questions, ask me in the comment section. I’ll try to answer all of them and other readers can also offer answers. Starting right now set a goal for how much you’d like to earn per day and go after it. Start with $10 or $20 in a single day. I’d guess that within a week of building up to that day, we can all do it! I’m here to help so if you’re motivated and have a site don’t hesitate to ask."
